Oil on board scene shows six hands reaching upwards, one grasping a ladder rung, one holding another hand which comes from above leaving four that are open. The work is done in shades of brown and tan. Housed in a modern carved and gilt molded wood frame with linen and gilt liner having a Guido Frame Studio label. NOTE: A letter on Stockbridge, Massachusetts letterhead dated July 30, 1963 in typed word reads: "Dear Mrs. Bradlee In regards to the "Hands" picture it was simply an idea I had to be used as a poster for some extremely good cause, but it never materialized. I am very glad that you liked it enough to purchase it. Kindest regards, Sincerely, (signed) Norman Rockwell".
