This stunning print is dated 1981, signed and numbered 232 of 300. Purchase of the print also comes with two recent appraisals AND the signed book entitled Mountains of the Middle Kingdom written by Galen Rowell. This is not only a treasure but a great investment.  The value of his works have only increased since his tragic death in 2002. This print has had only one owner since its purchase from the Nature Conservancy in 1981. It was framed immediately under museum quality, UV protective glass and has been kept out of direct sunlight. For safe shipping purposes, the print has recently been transferred under UV protective acrylic.   Print Details and Condition: Appraisal #1 This information is from the September 26th, 2008 appraisal which was performed by Penelope Dixon and Associates, inc. Pricing information was obtained from the Mountain Light Gallery (www.mountainlight.com). Mountain Light Gallery in California was established in 1983 by Galen and Barbara Rowell and deals solely with their works. This is a type C print, 16X20 inches. There is a small spot on the upper right quadrant (see photo to observe). Appraised at $22,000. Appraisal #2 This information is from the appraisal on August 9th, 2008 Performed by Photography West Gallery in Carmel California. A darkroom Type C print from a 4X5” internegative. Small spot in the upper right hand corner and a small scratch on the monastery (Mountain Light did not regard this in their appraisal). Appraised at $21,000. Note Regarding Photos: For privacy reasons on the appraisal photos, the name and address of the current owner has been blurred out.
