This auction is intended for serious buyers only. Please contact Bristol Trading Company if you have additional question. Due to the art's size, please contact for shipping quote. Information on the artist, Kenneth Morgan: Known for small, ink drawings that playfully reference the unusual childhood of the artist, Kenneth Morgan depicts his early life with his Connecticut-based family of circus acrobats. When he was nine-months old, he was in a performing act with his father, who had him in a bucket on a pole balanced on his forehead. The family was known as the Al Morgan Family, named for the father (the mother made the costumes), and they performed across the country until the younger members entered college. At that time, Kenneth Morgan went to the Vesper George School of Art in Boston, 1967-70. He also earned a B.A. degree in 1970 from the University of New Haven in West Haven, Connecticut, and an M.S. degree in 1972 from the University of Bridgeport, Connecticut. He later moved to Charleston, Maine for several years, where he lived in the grange hall that he bought and restored before returning to Connecticut. As an adult, Morgan became a large, burly-looking person, described as 'more closely resembling a wrestler than a trapeze artist' and as having an appearance that seems incongruous with his small pictorial drawings. Among his recognitions are grants from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation (1989) and the National Endowment for the Arts (1983). In March 2005, the Portland Museum in Portland, Maine held his first exhibit in that city. It was sponsored by A.R.T., a fund of the Berkshire Taconic Foundation.
