Two musicians, four attendants, with wine and or opium wine, and the Prince with his lover for the evening. The scene is in the pleasure garden. or "saheliyan ki bari" garden of female friends. The pavilion roof takes the form of the triple arched Howdah. The pavilion is three domed with chatris tops, with lightly protruding chajjas. The pavilion arches are actually Jharokha arches. This arch style is considered a part of the Rajput architectural style. However, they were brought to Rajasthan originally from Bengal by Rajput soldiers.  A blend of Mughal and Rrjapt painting styles. There is also a touch of western influence from the British Company style of art/paintings. Some of the Western influence is most noticeable as seen in the top blue background with the rolling green hills and with the structures and dwellings in the distance. The blue area has a 3 dimensional effect. Age estimate circa 1850. to say 1870. The painting has a definite clear signature though unable to decipher. There are three layers of detailed scroll work before reaching the center of the painting. Watercolor and gold on paper. The painting was laid down at some time on cream heaver paper board backing. Additional evidence of being laid down is observable on the back, showing line where pressure was applied to adhere the painting. The painting shows no bulge or indention lines from the process of being laid down. The is some turning at the tip edges. The lower left side of the paining shows some signs of lifting from the backing. The lower left edge is lifting is about one inch in and about a half inch up from the bottom. The other tips there is some are pulling back about .25 inches. Overall dimensions 21 inches by 16.25 inches. The center painting is 14.4 inches by 10 inches.
