Description
This auction is for an original oil painting by Italian artist, Paolo Bigazzi. It appears to be of a landscape in Tuscany. The painting is in excellent condition. But the frame has some paint chips off of it (probably when moved to the auction house, etc.) ... very easy to repair. The painting measures framed 40-1/2" long and 28-1/2" tall. Unframed, the canvas measures 35-3/4" wide and 23-1/2" tall. this is a fabulous painting and at quite a nice size. I recently purchased it at an estate auction sale. Please see info below on the artist. He is quite renowned and there are many sites (google.com) at which you can research and look, as well as purchase, his work but NOT for the very reasonable price I am asking for the above gorgeous painting. NOTE: I ship worldwide as long as payment is made via Paypal. The price of this original painting is phenomenal for this world famous Italian artist. The appraisal would range between $4000 and $7500 from what is available for sale now on various internet gallery sites. Living a stone's throw from the Duomo, he imbibed the artistic atmosphere of the city which would prove to have a profound influence on him. After five years he sought inspiration in the South of France and settled for some time in Cap d'Antibes. He spent his time living and working alongside the painters there and ceramic artists from the nearby village of Vallauris. He enjoyed his time in France, including the company and camaraderie of fellow artist, Picasso. On returning to Italy, he became a member of the "Cenacolo" group of artists, led by Pietro Annigoni. During this time, interest in his work started to grow and galleries throughout Europe and the United States introduced him to a wider audience. As Bigazzi became well known in the art world, he continued to exhibit his work, which has been highly regarded by collectors. He is particularly known for his breathtaking landscapes and sweeping panoramic views. He is able to capture the beauty and colour of the countryside with a freshness and vivacity that leaves the viewer desiring more. Bigazzi continues to paint his beautiful creations and his work has been shown in various countries. In the last ten years, he has divided his time between England and Tuscany, where he continues to produce and exhibit the work which has given him the stature he enjoys today. I try very hard to be fair and informative with each auction. Please look at my "Comment" section for my references. All my auctions are sold "as is" since I do not know its history … 99.8% of all items I put on eBay for auction are acquired at either an estate auction or estate sale. Sometimes I can find the info in my reference books or on the internet. If not, then I depend on my images and descriptions to do the job.
