Andersen,who was a general in the Civil War. He came to this country in the late 1700's from Scotland and made his home in Tennessee. The family later settled in the Boston area and in Florida in the 1800's. We believe this is a portrait of one of our ancestors,but can't prove it. It measures 28"x 24" and has been relined quite a long time ago. It came with a note that states it's a portrait of Robert Breese painted by Samuel Morse. We researched Samuel Morse and found he was painting portraits in the Boston area in the early 1800's,probably when my family aquired this painting. However,we haven't found anyone in our family with the last name Breese. It has a partial remains of a very old label on the back of the stretcher and we can make out the name"Robert B ". It is guaranteed to be an antique painting from the early 1800's and not a print or repro of any kind. Packing and shipping will be $45.00 anywhere in the U.S. we don't have a paypal account set up.
